A playlist to describe how I am feeling or was feeling. Interestingly enough in my music library I called this playlist “Angst”. As of now I am feeling a lot better, so perhaps I should really be posting a different playlist. It seems that the night consistently carries dark thoughts with it when you’re laying in bed and can’t sleep. However, I suppose we need to look past these thoughts and focus on better things.

Adventures in My Own Backyard

DSC_0027Its amazing what random compositions you can find when you’re looking for them. Immediately after I saw this broken chair on a stump of wood I knew I had to grab my camera. This is just a post in which I dump some of the photos I have taken in the past couple of weeks. DSC_0054DSC_0133DSC_0144DSC_0148So if you haven’t noticed, I post a lot of photos in which it is raining. I looove the rain. If its raining I am going to grab my camera and try to take as many pictures as possible while also trying not to get my camera wet.DSC_0160I am so excited to be headed to Victoria next week! A knew city to explore through my camera is just what I need. Hopefully I will have some new posts then :)

Looking Back, Looking Forward

DSC_0211 This is just one shot from Imans birthday bash last Sunday. It was a super fun time that made me realize I need to get out and see my friends more. Whenever summer comes rolling around I never fail to become a complete recluse, seeing my friends only once or twice. This summer has to be different. Has to be.

For me, this summer is all about changing. Not changing like I’m going to be a completely new person because I hate myself and everything about me. Noooo none of that. But changing for the better as in, just being happier with what I do with my time. I feel that I am too lazy and could just do so much more. I always create all these plans and then never actually complete them, or start them for that matter. So in fact, I just want to be a more [word that is escaping me at the moment] person.

Life is moving ahead and I am stuck here doing the same old, same old. But already, only 3 days into summer break, I feel like this summer is going to be different, already is different. University has taught me a lot, especially second semester. Some things happened that I think if they hadn’t, next fall I would be doing the same thing as I did for my first year. Which I definitely do not want to do! Mostly this is regarding my study habits. I can’t believe how terrible they are, and they need to change pronto! Procrastination can no longer be my best friend, we must part ways now. Its for the best.

So even though I am looking back at second semester with a lot of disappointment for myself, I am looking forward with a brighter outlook.

Out The Window and Into The World

WindowRemember when I sad in a previous post that I would post more photos from that roll of film? No? Must be because it was over two months ago, but it’s here finally! Feet in waterCoraOne of the many reasons I love photography so much is that it gets me outside exploring the world. Thanks to my camera, I now see the world in so many different perspectives that I never noticed before. Things that might be junk to others, turns into a beautiful photograph for me. Views that look boring for some, become a challenge at finding the beauty in it for me. OrchardhaypileThere are so many different elements that make a photo look good. Whether its the content, textures, or lighting, one or all can make or break a photo. Its these things that make photographs interesting to look at as well as the ideas behind them. PippinCan’t wait to break out my film camera again for the summer! Happy photographing!
